The Journey to Sustainability: Why We Ditched Plastic?
When we started 5 Petal, we knew we wanted to do things differently. The fashion industry in India is often riddled with fast fashion and plastic waste, but we saw an opportunity to create change. One of our first decisions was to eliminate plastic from our operations entirely. It wasn’t easy—sourcing eco-friendly alternatives in a market dominated by plastic packaging took time and effort—but it was worth it.
Today, we’re proud to offer every customer a premium quality Canvas Bag (14×15×3 inches with 24 inch handle) with their purchase, replacing plastic bags that harm our planet. We’ve also switched to Paper Envelopes and mailers for all shipments, ensuring that your order arrives sustainably. Since our launch, we’ve replaced thousands of plastic bags with reusable canvas ones, saving an estimated 5,000 pounds of plastic waste—and counting! These steps are a testament to our belief that fashion should never come at the expense of the environment.

We’ve also taken a stand against cosmetic discounts that dominate the fashion industry in India. At 5 Petal, we believe in fair and transparent pricing. Our prices reflect the true value of our garments—premium quality, sustainable materials, and ethical production—without the need for artificial discounts to lure customers.
